I reckon we could talk about my short-term project on a time-wrap.
Boop, boop, boop, boop.
Ho, ho, ho, ho. Yes, sir.
I made some progress on it.
I told you today. I told you I was gonna work on it, and I worked on it.
I even added the time...
Hey, let me... let me explain...
Let me explain this project.
This project...
I actually started this time-wrap quite some time ago.
Um...
Welp, welp, welp, welp, welp, welp, welp, welp, welp, welp, welp, welp, welp, welp.
Well, this time, it was actually...
Woof!
Quite a...
Woof!
Di...
Woof!
I got Tourette's.
I got Tourette's Syndrome.
Fuck.
Goddammit.
Fuckin' shit.
God, fuck.
Whore.
I got Tourette's.
Oh, no.
Fuck, shit.
Ah, fuck.
Ah, pfft.
Hey.
This is the bonus episode, people.
Don't expect too much from me on the bonus episode.
Because, uh...
It's a bonus episode, after all.
If you want all the serious shit, you should listen to the morning episode.
Because that's where I actually talk like a normal person.
But let me try to get my thoughts out here.
Yeah.
Sorry about all the guttural noises.
I know you're not supposed to do that.
But this is a, um...
Stream of Consciousness podcast.
And along the Stream of Consciousness comes guttural noises and random stimming-type behavior.
Which kind of ties...
Actually, it doesn't.
Well, let me tell you about the timer app.
I told you this morning that I was going to start working on a timer app.
And it turns out I already had one almost all the way completed.
A functionally complete timer app that I just never released.
I never released it.
And the name of it was Visual Timers.
So all I had to do was add a countdown feature to it.
Because remember, I was talking about the countdown feature this morning.
So all I had to do with this timer app that I already had was add a countdown feature to it.
And that's what I did today.
It only took me a couple hours or whatever of work.
Added a countdown feature.
So it's basically an interstitial screen that comes up before the time review comes up.
You can specify a countdown anywhere from 0 to 59 seconds.
I can't imagine wanting a countdown more than a minute.
I would want it set to like 5 seconds, personally.
So I allow you to specify a countdown for your timer between 0 and 59 seconds.
And then it shows the countdown with a minimal animation style.
And then after the countdown completes, the timer shows up.
And you get your visual timer, your low-stem visual timer.
And that's the app.
And it plays a sound when it's done along with a cute little animation.
And that's the app.
It's very, very, very simple.
So it's basically done.
I just have to do all the App Store stuff, which is kind of a pain in the butt.
But I'm going to make it like I'm going to work on it enough so that it's in a state where it can last.
And be a nice little app in the App Store for a long period of time without me having to go in and update stuff too much.
Oh, yep.
Okay, so as part of this, I want to address the devil on my shoulder who is always with me every step of the way.
He's always there doubting everything that I do.
So I want to address him because sometimes he has maybe some good points.
But the little devil on my shoulder, he has something to do with why I never released this app in the first place.
He's definitely a little bit to blame there.
So the little devil on my shoulder, he says,
Why would anyone create a timer app in the year 2025 when there must be a bazillion timer apps in the App Store?
Why would you do this?
Why?
My answer to that is because I can.
Because I can make the timer app exactly how I want it.
I don't have to pay anybody.
And I don't have to peruse through the million apps out there just to get a timer app that does exactly what I want.
Instead, I could spend a few days creating my own timer app that does exactly what I want.
And at the same time, it gives me something to do, something to challenge my mind.
I mean, my expectations for this from a financial perspective are very low, obviously.
I'd have to be foolish to expect a timer app to be in any way lucrative from a financial perspective.
Unless I'm some kind of YouTuber superstar who can promote the hell out of this thing to a giant audience.
And obviously, I have no audience yet.
So I have very low expectations.
But it's a very low effort, low expectations kind of a project where you can just put it out there.
I can just give it away for free.
See what the response is.
Every app you put out there gives you more information.
It gives you more surface area.
It doesn't matter if it's a simple app that's duplicating functionality of a million other apps out there.
I guarantee you, even though there's millions of timer apps out there, I guarantee the way that I did this one is going to be different in a few ways, one way or another, than all the existing apps out there.
Even though there's already a wide array of them.
Because there's a million ways to skin a cat, as they say.
And I came at this thing from first principles.
And I kind of like to do that with my apps.
I don't do like competitor analysis or any shit like that.
Stuff like that.
I just come at it with a fresh mind from first principles.
I think in my head, what do I want from a timer app?
And I just do that.
It's so minimal.
I don't pay any mind to what does some imaginary committee think a timer app should have in it.
I just make it exactly how I want it.
And what I like to do is I like to accompany my apps with a little how-to video explaining all the features and stuff.
So I'm going to do that.
And that's that, man. It's done.
Put it out there.
Doesn't cost me anything.
And that's it.
So that's my little explanation.
Little devil on my shoulder.
That's why I should create a timer app in 2025.
I hope I've convinced you.
And if I haven't, go fuck yourself.
